Spring 2012 Registration Changes
With the ever increasing costs of the goods and services to run our athletic programs as well as the rising league and officials fees, the LTAA will implement several small changes to our registration cost structure beginning with Spring 2012 sign-ups. While we know that times are tough all over financially, we feel it is necessary to make these changes at this point.
The changes that will occur will be to eliminate the $10 registration buy-out and replace it with a lottery calendar sale. Under this change, each registrant will pay for and receive ten (10) tickets at a cost of $3/ticket. When you sell your tickets, you keep the money, since you will have already paid for them. Tickets will be distributed in accordance with our sibling registration policy. That is, the first two registrants from the same household will receive ten (10) tickets each, the third will get five (5) tickets, and any others above three will not have to take any.
All registration costs will remain the same, $50/child in all sports except senior baseball leagues, which will remain $75/child. Thus, with one regular registrant, you will pay $50 for registration fees + $30 for lottery tickets, totaling $80 out of pocket. Upon selling your lottery tickets, you should have $30 coming back to you, thus your NET TOTAL registration cost will be $50. That will put you ahead by $10 if you chose the buy-out under the old policy.
As you can see, the LTAA is doing what we feel is needed to cover our costs, while at the same time NOT increasing the registration fee, and ultimately DECREASING your total out of pocket costs. All we are asking is that you sell a few lottery tickets. Past sales of lottery ticket fundraisers run through the LTAA have done very well. We think you will have very little problems in selling these tickets.
